I recently purchased an 'expand-o-matic desk at an estate sale. The plate says that it was manufactured by the Saginaw Furniture shops, Inc. The front legs pull forward about eight feet to unroll a tambor top working surface. I'm not sure how to research something like this. Can anyone tell me anything about the manufacturer or aproximate vintage of this desk/table? I have been able to find out only that the manufacturer existed around 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Write to the Saginaw chamber of commerce or historical society and ask them.

When businesses invoke the 'protection of consumers,' it's a lot like politicians invoking morality and children - grab your wallet and/or your kid and run for your life.
