about antiques? I'm finding that most here are in England and Australia, and I know I don't have anything in my collection from Europe as of yet. Does anyone know of a Canadian site for antiques or a newsgroup? I think that I would get more assistance identifying my Canadian antique furniture from a site that is more heavily Canadian based.... If anyone who has knowledge about Canadian furniture reads this please go to http://www.ucs.mun.ca/~mmarch/antique.html and have a look. Thanks

Maggie, I really don't see what more you need to know about your platform rocker, you have the date & company and I have given you other avenues to search out in my post regarding your buffet. If you want Canadian content there are several Canadian sites listed at http://www.canadianantiques.com/canlinks.html, these links cover the whole country province by province ( I am Canadian and my site is listed here), as far as I know there are no Canadian news groups for Antiques.

Mike, What I have up on my website is a picture of a 'similar' chair. There are some major differences (in my opinion anyway) with the addition of those fans on the sides, and the decorative piece on the top. I don't know if the same company made both, especially considering that the original stuffing included brin bags from Manitoba, and the chair pictured was made in Nova Scotia...There's been no confirmation that this is the same company. But, beond that, the main thing was for me to see if there was a Canadian site...the chances of my being able to afford European antiques are slim right now, and I was hoping that there might be a Canadian group in existance with the idea of finding auctions and sales of items that wouldn't have to be shipped so far from home.. Thanks for the help to all here on this group, always helpful and entertaining!!!
