I posted recently on Lalique glassware. The same antique shop has Baccarat glassware: 6 wine glasses at about $250, liqueur glasses at about $120. Acid etched pattern. Good condition. The items were made around 1950. Good buys?
I'm thinking of investigating French glassware can anyone recommend good books, online sources etc.?

Jim,
There are several great books on stemware, and on Lalique.
The thing is, you need to learn a) when the pieces were made (pieces still being made are not quite investment)
b) what pattern are they made in. Is it a hard to find, or rare pattern? or is it common.
Once you learn these things, and what fair market is for your area, you can discern whether or not you should be buying the stems you are seeing.
The most important question I would suggest you ask yourself is
Do you like it?
There is no guarantee anything will be worth squat 10 yrs from now, 5 yrs from now - 100 years from now. And if its not, and you don't like it - who else will?
