Those are the serial numbers and are very difficult to track as to what year they belong. If you had a look at ebay you could see that most people are struggling with this. Unfortunately the Ethan Allen website has closed or was deleted - in any case it is sheer impossible to get any reliable information on that now.
I will keep on looking for you though

Thank you! I've read about people having value books on Ethan Allen furniture..I'm hoping there is still something out there like that. I actually looked at ebay first...but the hutch I have is almost greenish white and looks nothing like ebay! Thanks for your help though!

stijenn, I will ask around my circle of friends if anyone still owns such a book, and if so will have them look it up and notify you. Can't promise anything though...

I believe that the codes mean that your hutch was manufactured in Beecher Falls, Vermont in October of 1970.

I an a former Ethan Allen employee and I can't tell you much from those numbers. I can tell you that PLT-3 is the plant number. Plant #3 is the Beecher Falls division of Ethan Allen. That is the plant I worked at. It closed in 2009, but is still milling logs for other plants. The 14-4026 is the case number and the 37-1070 is indeed the date it came off the line. October 7, 1970. The 3 is the plant #. I used to stamp those from time to time.

Ethan Allen Early ...
Guest

Hello from Hayden, Idaho!
I just purchased two Ethan Allen Early American Solid Maple and Birch hutches, 32 inches tall.
On the back of one:
10-6C27
468021
Inspector #1

The other:
<phone>
Inspector #1

Do you know where/when they were made?
Thanks so much,
Linda Hagen Coppom

I have an old Ethan Allen table, the sides flare out on it, and it has a really pretty design on it and the feet are black and almost look like a claw foot table. The numbers on the bottom are: 14-8350
PLT: T
702207

Any ideas let me know

Hi there,
I stumbled on this site by accident. I bought these two pieces of Ethan Allen furniture from an antique shop, the vendor told me that they were from the American Embassy In Wellington New Zealand. I am trying to find out more about these pieces, partly for insurance values and also for general interest. Could you please describe them for me, what would they be called. I am not sure what type of wood they are made from. Both pieces are superb and I love them and would love to know more about them
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Cheers
Dan

I would call Ethan Allen corporate <phone> and give them the number on the back (the one that starts with 15) and they may be able to look up that items cost in their achives. That product number is no longer current but their customer service should be able to assist you.

Found this info online that may help you:

Serial Numbers and Labels
The other identifier is the serial code or number. This is can be easily deciphered once you know what each series represents.

For example, if the numbers were 12-1026 PLT 2 and the number stamped above this is 28-0968 then this indicates that your furniture was:

•PLT 2: Manufactured at Plant #2
•12-1026: Case number
•28-0968: Date it came off the assembly line - the first two numbers are the Plant # 2 and the day of the month - 8th the rest is read as month and year. So in this example, this fictional piece of furniture would have been manufactured at Plant #2 and finished on September 8, 1968.
Upholstered furniture will bear an Ethan Allen logo label.

If this is a hutch top from a dining room collection, then it is not Ethan Allen. The numbers don't match up.

I inherited an Ethan Allen Nutmeg round table and set of four chairs. It is stamped 10-6024P and 964040 on the table. On the chairs it says PLT 14; 10-6040 and 962050. Can anyone help me date this?
