Jim's Secretary Desk.
Guest

Looking to post this on craigslist, and I don't even know where to begin guessing a sale price. The desk has no markings of brand/make, no serial numbers, nothing. It was my grandparents pride, I suspect they got it in the 1940's, and it has a skeleton key thing that works on the cabinet and drop down desk. There is a large blemish which looks like it was maybe from tape, on a side, and a few corner 'dings', but the wood itself is in good shape. the INSIDE of the fold down door shows lots of signs of use. (scratches, etc.)

Hello, often the most important and desired feature is what is "under the hood". Please post a photo of the inside of the secretary. I can say the design is waterfall veneer and most likely made during the depression era up to 1940.

here's some pics of the inside. I also can't seem to lock the "Desk" part. the locking mechanism lifts just slightly as you turn the key around. I thought it did lock, but at the moment it may need some tinkering.
Thanks to those who've commented so far. as I said, I'm at a loss on this thing what to sell it for, and even HOW to sell it. can't imagine ebay is ideal, considering transportation. Guess craigslist is the way to go.
