i have an antique dresser that has wooden wheels, a mirror on a swivel, three drawers, in original condition. i believe it is early 1900's, maybe earlier. how do i find out what it may be worth?
I wish someone would reply, because I have one too and am wondering the same.
Dressers like you have described were in style for about 40 years (1880-1920). You will need to post pictures if you want anyone to attempt to date it. Focus on the hardware, drawer joinery and underneath (if possible). Thanks!
I have one. Pls see photos. Dovetail construction. Seems to be notable pulls & those wooden casters. On back is stenciled: A-493-15-A-ROBE. From St Louis, MO area.
I have 2 small dressers the same I rescued years ago, the hardware was mostly missing, the mfg, stamps on the wheels were Phildelphia 1890;s. I will bookmark this and try to take photos. the drawers are dovetail wood red oak the mirror swivels inside another frame every drawer has a square lockset no key
I have one also totally refinished but would like 2 replace the wheels they r in bad shape but the piece is just like yours .i have spent many hrs.finishing sure would like 2 find some wheels.
ebay has many dozens of restoration and original casters. You have to make sure they fit in the holes on the corners of you piece. I paid $12 for four replica wooden casters not too long ago.
Have one great condition plus a small cigar box in bottom drawer - secret compartment? Hardware on fair. How can we restore wood? Paint?
Please post images - we would like to see it.
This one I took prior to knowing attached was the cigar box I'll take a detailed photo of it at a later time. Anybody estimate a year - the mirror too is in fair condition. I would like to repair the wood first later is beginning to warp / lift. Any recommendations?
1920`s > . I would paint it.
Is this vintage has wooden wheels
Yes vintage. Perhaps you want to start a new topic.
This is a secret compartment found under a drawer is this typical? And is this a cigar box? This is still part of a vanity I previously posted. Thank you!
