Is anyone able to tell me anything ( ie date of manufacture, value, etc.) about the clock?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not really a clock guy, myself, other than fooling with individual clocks I handle from time to time, but I'd say roughly turn of the century, 1890-1910, and maybe $200 - $275 shop price. Of course, you can watch this one at auction and see what it brings. Note that the seller was 'told' that it runs and chimes well. They can't tell for themselves? That's going to hurt the end selling price of this one.

The Sessions Co. succeeded E.N. Welch about 1903. From the style of the clock shown I'd guess it's in the early period of the company. Hard to say what one is worth, but they're pretty ordinary. You never know though; someone might take a shine to it, and the price could go fairly high. In general though, I'd say $100 - 150.

Thanks for the info. The clock we bought is in better shape, keeps time AND chimes. We are very happy with it (took a shine to it as it were). We paid $225, which sounds as if it may be in the realm of reason. I am going to keep an eye out for the release of a book on Sessions clocks by Tran Duy Ly .
