Upload the picture to a website somewhere and post the link. JPGs are NOT visible to most newsreaders.

Tsu Dho Nimh

When businesses invoke the 'protection of consumers,' it's a lot like politicians invoking morality and children - grab your wallet and/or your kid and run for your life.

It's worse than that, looks like some kind soul (first name Richard?) has cancelled the entire article, I'll have to find some web space somewhere and upload the piccies - watch this space.

Anyway, to reiterate the ascii representation of the marks, they looklike:

X X CHH A S S

1 1 2 7

The CHH/S is one mark in a shield and the marks on either side are actually in a calligraphic-style font. I can't make out the initial X X, but it ain't a lion or one of the usual English marks. The knob on the lid is detachable but isn't marked.

Thanks for that, there are further pictures now on

Yes you could be right, it may well be EPNS done in a style that mimics hallmarking to fool the unwary. Still it's a nice pot even for £18.

As for the news cancelling, yes it can happen, my suspicions were raised when my original post didn't make it to Deja.
